Description:

The Porsche 968 Cabriolet represents the final chapter of one of Porsche's most significant engineering concepts. As the ultimate evolution of the highly successful transaxle generation, it combines the technical sophistication of the 944 with a comprehensively revised chassis, near-perfect weight distribution and the most powerful naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine ever fitted to a production Porsche. Thanks to its timeless design, exceptional driving dynamics and comparatively limited production numbers, the 968 is now widely regarded as one of the most underrated modern classics to wear the Porsche crest. This example, chassis number WP0ZZZ96ZPS830103, was built on 22 September 1992 (1993 model year) and first registered on 9 November 1992. Delivered new in Germany, the car has been in Belgium since 2009 and has belonged to its current owner since 26 May 2021. It benefits from a valid Belgian roadworthiness certificate until 10 June 2027. Accompanying the car is a Car-Pass documenting its mileage history from 11 March 2009 onwards, together with the Car-Pass issued when it was acquired by the current owner in 2021, providing a transparent and well-documented ownership history. Power comes from Porsche's celebrated 3.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine featuring Variocam technology, producing 240 horsepower. Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and Porsche's signature transaxle layout, with the transmission mounted at the rear, the 968 offers an exceptional balance of performance, comfort and precision. Its almost perfect weight distribution makes it one of the finest-handling Porsches of its era, while the Cabriolet body style allows drivers to fully appreciate the character of this outstanding powertrain. This Porsche is generously specified and features the desirable 17-inch Cup alloy wheels, air conditioning, an electrically operated convertible top, power steering, heated front seats, electrically adjustable front seats, a limited-slip differential, driver and passenger airbags, electric windows, a Porsche Symphony RDS audio system and headlamp levelling. The interior is finished in black and complemented by a dark blue convertible hood, an elegant and timeless colour combination that perfectly suits the car's classic lines. Mechanically, the car has clearly benefited from conscientious maintenance throughout its life. It received servicing on 10 June 2009 and again on 29 March 2019. On 13 May 2011, both the timing belt and balance shaft belts were replaced, one of the most important maintenance procedures on the Porsche 968. Following its acquisition by the current owner, the car was serviced by Sportcars by Marc Ramscheidt on 27 May 2021, when the engine oil was changed and both the power steering pump and radiator were replaced. The most recent roadworthiness inspection was carried out on 10 May 2025. With its German delivery, well-documented Belgian history since 2009, fully traceable mileage record, comprehensive maintenance history and desirable factory specification, this Porsche 968 Cabriolet represents an exceptionally attractive example of Porsche's final transaxle model. Combining timeless styling, outstanding engineering, remarkable balance and one of the finest naturally aspirated engines of its generation, it remains one of the most rewarding and engaging classic Porsches to drive today.
